Indonesia Requires Prior Notice Submission Before Vessel Departure

USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) reports that “Prior Notice” for Indonesia must now be submitted prior to a shipment departing the port of origin. Indonesian Quarantine Authority (IQA) verbally clarified with FAS that this new requirement will be strictly enforced and was effective February 6, 2025.

The NHC is working with the U.S. government to seek clarity and formal guidance on this new requirement, and a grace period on implementation to avoid issues on arrival for shipments currently enroute to Indonesia.

Additional information on this situation is available in this FAS GAIN Report. This alert will be updated as more information becomes available.
